The UNOFEX is honored to welcome Iiro Komulainen, a young and revolutionary piano virtuoso from Finland, as its newest member. Known for his phenomenal improvisational and compositional skills, Iiro's comprehensive piano repertoire spans classical music, film scores, popular tunes, and his own original compositions.
Iiro Komulainen is a young, revolutionary and remarkable piano virtuoso from Finland. Iiro is known from he’s phenomenal piano improvisational and compositional skills. In his very comprehensive piano repertoire he has included works of classical music, film music, popular tunes and his own compositions and improvisations.
Mr. Komulainen has an astounding ability to improvise on the piano with any given idea. Often in his concerts he ask the audience to give him an idea where he starts improvising then and crafts flowing, coherent and beautiful music immediately.
In his compositional style he has taken influences from classical maestros but also for the contemporary tunes, film music and jazz. Iiro has graduated from the Pop & Jazz Conservatory of Helsinki and studied classical music and composition with notable private teachers and instructors.
EARLIER CAREER
Iiro is touring all around the world and working in different kinds projects with other musicians, artists, companies and institutions. Iiro has done PianoBattle concerts with his fellow pianist friend Niklas Klaavo where they combine musical talent, artistically high quality music and put it together in an entertaining and easy-to-approach format.
These PianoBattle concerts has been performed in different municipalities, churches, shopping centres (Including Estonias biggest shopping center Ülemiste) and in the Rooftop of tallest building in Raahe in the winter with a drone videographer team.
FURTHER HIGHLIGHTS
Iiro Komulainen has also gained some public recognition and he has been interviewed in some of the biggest newspapers and radio channels in Finland. Iiro’s charming personality and enchanting ability to play the piano has brought him many concert opportunities both in Finland and internationally.
CURRENT HIGHLIGHTS
Iiro Komulainen is also an active in social media and has gained millions of views all of his channels combined together. Only Based on Distrokid music distribution service’s data, Iiro’s piano cover of Hans Zimmer’s composition “Interstellar” has been streamed now over 3,7 million times on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
